An industrial visit was organised to CSIR-NEERI Kolkata campus. A total number of 20 nos. (3rd Sem. – 7 nos. & 1st Sem. – 13 nos.) students participated in the visit. Scientists of NEERI namely Dr.Deepanjan Majumder, Er. Amitava Ray, Dr. (MS.) Rachana Jain, Dr. Sreemanta Pramanik, Dr. Kanchan N Ranjan, Dr. Anirban Middey educated the students on various aspects of environmental engineering.
AEI collaborated with FOSET to organise 14th All India Inter Engineering College Academic Meet at JIS Kalyani on 12th May 2024. Prof Santanu Das addressed the participants. Prof. Mans Kumar Saha and Er. Debmalya Basu was in the Jury Board. Dr. Nilanjan Sengupta was also present. More than 250 students from all over the state participated in the programme.
14th Inter University Engineering, Science & Technology Academic Meet – 2024 & Innovative Model Competition For A Sustainable Society was organized by Forum of Scientists, Engineers & Technologists (FOSET) in collaboration with JIS College of Engineering - Kalyani, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology - West Bengal, The Association of Engineers India, and The Indian Society for Technical Education – West Bengal Section and on 12 th May, 2024 at JIS College of Engineering campus at Kalyani. Prof. Santanu Chattopadhyay, Director, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Kalyani was the Chief Guest and inaugurated the Academic Meet 2024. Sri. Dibyendu Chakraborty, Deputy Director General, Bureau of Indian Standards was present as Guest of Honour. Dr. K. K. Satpathy – President, FOSET; Prof. Partha Sarkar, Principal, JIS College of Engineering, Kalyani; Prof. Debasis Dey, Director, IQAC, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal; Prof. Prof. Jyoti Sekhar Banerjee, Secretary, Indian Society for Technical Education, West Bengal Section; Dr. Nilanjan Sengupta, Secretary, The Association of Engineers, India; Prof. Ashik Paul, Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics, University of Calcutta; Mr. Prabhat Kumar Bera – General Secretary, FOSET were present in the inaugural program. In the Valedictory Session Prof. Partha Sarkar, Principal, JIS College of Engineering along with Prof. Jyoti Sekhar Banerjee Secretary, Indian Society for Technical Education, West Bengal Section, Prof. Santanu Das of the Association of Engineers India were present. Prof. Manas Kr. Saha, and Er. Debmalya Basu of The Association of Engineers India were in the jury boards to adjudge papers and models. In all eighty seven (87) papers were received and seventy nine papers were presented. Number of participants was one hundred seventy two (172). Model Exhibition: thirty six (36) models were exhibited and number of participants was sixty (60).
The Association of Engineers India collaborated with Dasnagar Government Polytechnic to organise one seminar on Industrial Safety on 26th July 2024. Prof Manas Kr. Saha, Principal of Dasnagar Government Polytechnic welcomed the guests. Prof. B Mukherjee, Er S N Alley, Prof Santanu Das, Er. S N Basu addressed the gathering. Dr. Nilanjan Sengupta. Hony Secretary, The Association of Engineers India was also present. A large number of student and faculty attended the programme.
A panel discussion on “Energy Transition: Renewable Energy in West Bengal” was organized by FOSET in association with Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, The Association of Engineers (India) and Monoranjan Roy Energy Education Centre on 24th August, 2024 at Auditorium of Institute Of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers at Sector – V, Salt Lake Electronics Complex. In the Inaugural Session Smt. Sharmila Ghosh, Chairperson, IETE delivered welcome Address. Dr. Aniruddha Nag, Former Secretary, IETE and Sri Joy Chakraborty, of FOSET detailed about the Program. Thereafter in the session on the topic titled “Renewable Energy for Livelihood Applications (Solar Pump, Solar Drier, Solar Cold Room Etc.)”, Sri Debidas Dutta, Advisor (Power), West Bengal delivered lecture. The lecture was followed by presentation by personnel from M/s Geetanjali Solar Enterprises and M/s ECOGEN. In this session Dr.. N. R. Bandopadhyay, Vice President, FOSET acted as Moderator. The next session was on “Green Open Access” in which Sri Soubhik Das, Vice President, Amp Energy and Sri Arkajyoti. Bhattacharya, Sr. Manager, India Power delivered lecture. The third session was on Bio-Energy Applications & Training needs for Green Energy for West Bengal. In this session Sri Abhijit Bishayee delivered lecture. Sri Debmalya Basu represented The Association of Engineers (India).

Mr. Sandip Boral – CEO and MD of CALNESTOR Knowledge Solutions explained the application of AI in our daily life. Prof S N Basu and Dr. Nilanjan Sengupta were also present.
